D'ORFEUILLES

History of estate

Built on the former grounds of a medieval château that has since disappeared, Domaine d’Orfeuilles was officially established in 1947 by Paul HERIVAULT. His father had cultivated two hectares of vines between the two world wars, continuing a long family lineage of vignerons.

Today, the vineyard spans nearly 23 hectares in the A.O.C Vouvray, spread across the communes of Chançay and Reugny. It is now managed by Bernard HERIVAULT and his son Arnaud, who uphold traditional viticultural practices while carefully crafting their wines.

Ideal conditions for the ripening of Chenin Blanc grapes.

FROM VOUVRAY

Chenin Blanc

Planted on gently sloping hillsides, our vines benefit from optimal sun exposure, facing south, southwest, and southeast. We are fortunate to have all the major soil types of the Vouvray appellation within our estate—clay, clay-limestone, and flinty soils with high silex content. These diverse terroirs create exceptional growing conditions, allowing Chenin Blanc grapes to reach perfect ripeness.

As a result, our wines reflect the full depth, authenticity, and complexity of Vouvray’s terroir.

Equipped with state-of-the-art winemaking facilities, we use gravity-fed processing to handle the grapes with the utmost care, from reception to pressing and fermentation. This gentle and efficient approach ensures that every step of vinification preserves the purity of the fruit and the character of the vintage.

Precision, patience, and deep respect for the grapes define our work in the cellar.
