SILEX D'ORFEUILLES

This wine presents a pale yellow hue with silver reflections. The nose is fruit-forward and floral, dominated by distinct mineral notes of flint, seamlessly integrated with subtle oak and a delicate hint of vanilla. On the palate, it is round and voluminous, revealing flavors of acacia blossom and offering an impressive length. A wine that is both powerful, round, and deeply mineral.

Vinification Process :
SILEX d’Orfeuilles is a dry wine crafted from old vines planted on a south-facing slope. This exceptional terroir in the Vouvray appellation is characterized by a thick layer of flint stones covering the clay-limestone soil, imparting a pronounced minerality and the renowned gunflint aroma.
The must is vinified 50% in stainless steel tanks and 50% in 500L oak barrels, of which 25% are new. Fermentation occurs without added yeast, followed by 11 months of aging on fine lees, with regular bâtonnage to enhance texture and complexity.
